Our future plans for Forrest Motorsport

After three fantastic years, it is time to take the next step

We decided to relocate to a new site and adjust our business model slightly. We will pivot to semi-mobile operations with a new base, allowing us to relocate within hours and run our simulators at events, shows, and pop-ups. Sadly, as much as we love being on the High Street and, of course, Newbury is our hometown, we feel there are too many threats to a niche business permanently located on the UK highstreet, and while Newbury seems to have a healthy retail and resturant sector, we feel we can reach a broader audience by becoming semi-mobile.

When we opened in July 2022, we were unsure which direction the business would take. We tried many avenues, and over the last three years, we have been involved and consulted in projects with Amazon Distribution, DVSA (Driving Standards Agency UK), USAF, Octopus Energy, Podium, Albany Private Members Club, Cranfield University, Swansea University, and Playfactore. We have also built our first commercial race rooms for several sites in the UK using the knowledge gained. We’ve broadened our network of friends and  industry members through our shop

This year, we’ve officially started to support upcoming local talent and offer support through coaching, technical support, sales and sim time. We currently look after Ed Spain's training along with several other young karters. We also support Reading University Motorsport Society with Club 100 training and social evenings.

Winning the Newbury Weekly News 2024 Best in Business award for the best independent retailer was fantastic, and we loved every single second of the evening, making all the hard work and sacrifices worth it. Forrest Motorsport was the only company in the 2024 awards to be finalised in two categories, and it makes all the hard work and sacrifice worthwhile. But, we cannot live on awards and kudos alone, and it’s now time for the next stage of the business.

Just as rewarding has been the feedback from our customers. Across Google and TripAdvisor, we’ve now received over 100 reviews—99 of them five-star. That one remaining four-star still keeps us humble! We’re incredibly proud of the consistently high praise, and it reflects the passion, service, and dedication we put into every experience we offer.

We now want to focus more on our events, going to the customer, commercial projects, supporting more drivers and karters in their journey to motorsport.

We will continue to support the local community through free events and donations, and will remain available to help when needed. We will look for opportunities to return to Newbury for events and pop-ups, and will keep all our clients updated on our activities and whereabouts.
